What do I need to know about Retinol Reform?

Shani developed Retinol Reform because she couldn't find a product that delivered the benefits of retinol without the typical drawbacks of irritation and dryness. Retinol Reform’s innovative formula proves gentle and effective with ingredients like lactic acid, aloe vera, and niacinamide, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. And the serum’s base is oil free, making it versatile for different skin types. It can be layered under moisturizer if you have dry skin, but is hydrating enough for those with oily skin to use alone. How do I use Retinol Reform?

Shani recommends first using one to two pumps of Retinol Reform all over your entire face, neck, and décolletage one evening a week. Each week, add another day until you are eventually using the product every night. If you have dry or sensitive skin, you may find that you can only use the serum two or three times per week until your skin can tolerate more frequent applications — adjusting to this may take longer than the first eight weeks of use. If you have oily skin, you may build up to daily use faster than other skin types. It's very important to build up slowly and only use Retinol Reform at night, so you don’t irritate your skin.

When should I apply Retinol Reform?

Use Retinol Reform after you cleanse at night, then apply moisturizer if needed.

Where can I apply Retinol Reform?

Shani formulated Retinol Reform for use on your face, neck, and décolletage.

Can I use toner before applying Retinol Reform?

After you cleanse, you may apply a gentle toner before using retinol.

Can I apply Retinol Reform under my eyes?

You may apply a small amount of retinol under your eyes, being careful to avoid your lashes, eyelid, and lower lid margin. Because the skin surrounding your eyes can be very sensitive, you should start slow — one or two times per week — and build up the frequency of use to minimize possible irritation. Due to the skin's delicate nature, however, all skin types may not be able to handle this under-eye treatment. And, of course, don’t forget to use sunscreen regularly when using a retinol product!

What skin care products should I use in combination with Retinol Reform?

Shani believes wearing SPF every day is a must no matter the weather or the products you use. So, always apply sunscreen as part of your skin care routine. With Retinol Reform, stay mindful about this daily practice because retinol can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. When cleansing your skin at night, do not use a scrub or anything abrasive before applying Retinol Reform. Then, follow the serum with your nighttime moisturizer.

When will I see Retinol Reform’s results?

Results will vary depending on your skin type and what you are using Retinol Reform to treat. For acne, you should notice your skin improving after a week and soon see a smoother surface with an increased glow. For reducing discolorations, it may take a few months to see spot lightening benefits. For wrinkles and fine lines, you may notice a visible difference anywhere from a week to month after beginning use.

If I’m pregnant and/or breastfeeding, can I use Retinol Reform?

Retinol Reform SHOULD NOT be used when you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding. Please consult your physician to determine the best time to start or resume using Retinol Reform after having your baby.

Should I consult a doctor about skin care and retinol use?

Are your products tested on animals?

No. Shani Darden Skin Care products are not tested on animals. We support alternative, cruelty-free methods of safety testing.

iS Clinical products are never tested on animals and do not use ingredients sourced from animals.

Control Corrective does not test any of its ingredients on animals and they are certified through the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC).

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare is cruelty-free and does not test on animals — and most are vegan.

How does the Retinol Reform subscription work?

We want to offer you a convenient way to save on your favorite Shani Darden Skin Care product. By selecting the Retinol Reform Subscription, you’ll enjoy $15 off each bottle! Simply sign up once, choose your shipping preference, and you will never have to worry about running out again.

We will send you one bottle of Retinol Reform (1 oz.) at your selected frequency from the date you subscribed and bill your credit card with no hassle to you. By signing up for this subscription, you are committed to a minimum of three (3) shipments, which is equal to three (3) individual payments each totaling the fee stated at purchase + shipping and taxes.

If you choose to cancel before the minimum (3) shipments, your credit card will be charged for the remaining shipments, equaling three (3) charges total from the date you signed up. If you choose not to receive the remaining product at the time of early cancellation, you will only be charged for the remaining value of your subscription and will not be charged for shipping and taxes.

How do I pay for my Retinol Reform Subscription?

We bill your credit card the fee stated at the time of purchase plus applicable tax and shipping based on the method you initially selected on your first order every one (1), two (2), three (3), four (4), five (5), or six (6) months depending on the frequency you selected when you enrolled in the subscription.

How do I renew my Retinol Reform Subscription?

No need to worry about renewals — we’ve got you covered! Your subscription will remain active until you cancel.

How do I cancel my Retinol Reform Subscription?

We’d hate to see you go, but you may cancel any time after your initial minimum commitment of (3) shipments. (For complete terms see “How does the Retinol Reform subscription work?” above.) Once you’ve cancelled your subscription, your credit card information will be deleted and you will not receive any more orders.

In the event you want to cancel before the initial commitment of (3) shipments is met, your credit card will be charged for the remaining shipments, equaling three (3) charges total from the date you signed up. If you choose not to receive the remaining product at the time of early cancellation, you will only be charged for the remaining value of your subscription and will not be charged for shipping.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. We do not accept cash, personal checks, or money orders as payment.

Where do you ship?

We ship orders across the globe to the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories), international destinations (except Africa), and APO/FPO addresses. All orders shipped to Africa must be placed through shanidardenafrica.com.

How much does shipping cost?

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes! Simply select USPS Priority Mail Express at checkout.

How long does it take for my order to ship?

Your order generally ships from Southern California within 3-5 business days after making your purchase.

The Deesse Premium LED Mask can take up to 1-3 weeks to ship.

How do orders ship?

We ship orders via United States Postal Service (“USPS”) First-Class Mail Parcel + Delivery Confirmation, USPS Priority Mail Express (Overnight), or USPS First-Class Mail International depending on your delivery location and selection at checkout.

How do I track my order?

You will receive a confirmation e-mail with tracking information when your order ships. In the event your order tracks as delivered but you have not received it within 3 business days from this update, please let us know — we’re here to help! It’s possible that the USPS prematurely updated your shipping information. We can be reached at help@shanidarden.com or (310) 893-7054, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST.

RETURNS
What is your return policy?

If you’re not 100% satisfied with your order, please e-mail us at help@shanidarden.com so we can find a solution that meets your skin care needs.

You may return most new and unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. You must return items in new or unused condition with all original materials included with the shipment. We must receive your returned items at our processing facility within 45 days of delivery. We inspect all returned items and award a partial refund for opened or used products. Only if the return is a result of our error or defective product, we will refund the full cost of the merchandise and shipping charges. If you initiate a return after 30 days, Shani Darden Skin Care may issue a partial refund depending on elapsed time and condition of merchandise. Your return may expire after 90 days if we have not received your item.

How do I make a return?

We hope you love the products as much as we do, but not to worry if you’d like a return. We’re happy to start the process for you. Just e-mail us at help@shanidarden.com.

How long will my refund take?

You can expect to receive your refund within four weeks of shipping your package back to Shani Darden Skin Care. In many cases you will receive a refund sooner, but we estimate four (4) weeks to allow for the time required by return shipping (up to 14 days), product inspection at our returns facility (up to 5 business days), and processing from your bank or credit card company (up to 5 business days). We will notify you via e-mail with the details of your refund and issue it in the form of payment used to make your purchase once your return process is complete.
